Welcome to Baltimore Township, a 36 square mile suburban community situated in Barry County, Michigan. Located only 7 1/2 miles south of Hastings (named one of America’s Top 100 Best Small Towns), Baltimore Township is a great place to live and play! With our proximity to Hastings, you can enjoy living a rural, quiet life in Baltimore Township, but still have easy access to shopping, a cinema, a local Hospital, and much more from Hastings. Enjoy lake living? We have you covered there as well, within our township resides 8 lakes; Long Lake, Pierce Lake, Newton Lake, Aurohn Lake, Mud Lake, Mixer Lake, Middle Lake, and Hall Lake. We also service a local camp, Camp Kitanniwa, an outstanding nature center with a multitude of year round activities, Pierce Cedar Creek Institute and offer a modern library, Dowling Public Library.
As a growing Township (with a current rural population of 1,900 residents), we are proud to provide our residents with a full range of municipal services. And for those residents that live in our Township year round, we are also proud of our numerous well-maintained County and Municipal roads – especially during harsh winter conditions.
Above all, we welcome everyone to enjoy our great Township and we invite our residents to join us the 2nd Tuesday of each month, at 7 pm, for our open Township meetings.
